I have been making collage for years now. Using my own photographs along with materials sourced from vintage and contemporary magazines, various papers, I add paints, stencils, and stickers, etc. Using my old photo work to collage on top of, I cut and compose seemingly disparate elements into playful, surreal, and (sometimes) surprising, contemporary narratives.

Much like my reflection-focused photography, collage appeals to my interest with the interplay of multiple layers of information and movement on a single surface. The complexity of this integration creates images that transcend beyond the literal.

Largely inspired by my love of street art and its rebellious spirit, my collages have a noisy, chaotic energy. I enjoy the personal struggle of ‘solving the puzzle’ – arranging the many fragments of text, symbols, and imagery, to work together to tell a story.
